broken image

Basic user's guide dcp-j125 dcp-j315w version 0 uk/ire/gen. I have a brother printer DCP-330C am unable to use. The warning light is flashing and the screen says ( unable to init. F4 and unable to init. 50 ) can you tell me what this means and hopefully will b read more. In many cases owners of Brother inkjet printers report the cost of the procedure outweighs the value of their printer. With this in mind we suggest resetting the purge counter of your Brother printer using the method described below and continuing to use it until waste ink begins to overflow inside/outside the printer.

You'll find an entry You'll find an entry Init Unable 4f Brother Dcp-j140w If number is over 6000, an account.Login to post Please use English characters only. I TRIED ENTERING.2864, RE-INSTALLING EACH CARTRIDGE ONE AT A TIME, AND Loading.

If you get a 'Ink Absorber NearFull' message, you'll need to reset the printer's waste ink counter (aka purge counter). It's the same error as 'Clean Unable 46' with other Brother printer models.

Here's the steps:
  1. Press Menu, then Mono followed by the Up button 4 times. This should bring you to Maintenance Mode.
  2. Press Up/Down and look for the following (the panel should display individual numbers):
    • 8 then press OK.
    • 0 then press OK.
  3. Press Mono until you see 'Purge xxxxx'. 'xxxxx' should be a set of numbers.
  4. Again, press the Up button and look for the following:
    • 2 then press OK.
    • 7 then press OK.
    • 8 then press OK.
    • 3 then press OK.
  5. The control panel should display 'Purge 00000'. Press Exit.
  6. Finally, press Up/Down button and look for the following:
    • 9 then press OK.
    • 9 then press OK. This exits Maintenance Mode. The printer should reinitialize.
All done. The error message should be gone, and the printer should work again.
Some may notice this is almost identical to the waste reset instructions I posted for DCP-130C. In fact, it just has some minor omissions. Brother printers seem to have a more or less standard method for resetting the waste counter.

Hi!
Kept getting a 'Unable to Print see Maintainace and Troubleshooting Guide' message.Only thing to do was clean the platen(?). Not the easiest part to find. They should make it another color... Finally called Brother...Went through the 'key in blah, blah, and blah' bit. LCD Flashed error code 4F. Guy on the helpline didn't know what it meant(!!). Gave me an area repair shop. I'd like to know the code meaning so I can(if need be)make sure that the shop doesn't try to rip me off(repair est./self-repair instruc. would be nice from here, too). Thanks!
Regards,
M
